The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art is the only museum in Canada entirely devoted to ceramics. It was founded in 1984 by Toronto philanthropists George and Helen Gardiner to house their outstanding ceramics collection and has often been described as a "jewel box" of ceramic treasures. Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto on the campus of the University of Toronto, across from the Royal Ontario Museum, the Gardiner is one of Toronto's outstanding cultural destinations
